"The timing and tuning are also slightly lower than its Japanese counterpart, allowing it to adhere to the strict emissions regulations of the United States.""However, the internal components for the American versions were largely stripped-down versions of the specifications for the Japanese Lancer Evolution VIII. No US-spec Evolution model has active yaw control, including the 2006 Evolution IX."

Active Yaw Control is not going to make/break the US Evo. It is the only distinguishing factor between Japanese/UK and US Evos in terms of performance. Some of the fastest Evos in the world are US-tuned and owned Evos without Active Yaw Control.

What you failed to mention is that the Evo in this clip is the FQ400, a much-higher horsepower variant of the US Evos. All it takes to get a regular Evo to that power level is about $3000-$4000 in modifications.

BTW, people should buy Evos now before they go away. The new Evo X coming out later this year, next year moves to a whole new engine that won't be able to make the horsepower of the current model. It does look a whole lot better, though.
