Rio Grande Gorge and Bridge

This bridge spans the Rio Grande Gorge, a 900ft vertical drop to the river below. At full size you can see people walking along the top of the bridge for scale. As you are driving across this flat plane there is little evidence of the gorge until you are at it. I can image early pioneers finding the gorge and trying to decide what to do next.
