Capillary discharge run-up

Run-up phase of a mercury vapor capillary discharge lamp, where bubbles of mercury are slowly migrating toward cooler regions of the discharge tube. Such lamp usually operate at around 80 Bars when at full power. The pressure is precisely regulated by the quantity of mercury fed into the discharge tube.
