Mercator Projection in OpenGLES

I m unsure if this is the right place for this question but am I able to draw a geodesic arc on a flat map using OpenGLES ? The point is I wanna connect two points on earth separated by a distance and on a map if I use straight lines It'd be absolutely wrong. A great circle would be more appropriate. Could anybody help me with this please ?
